Auditing & Site Inspections
Non-compliance doesn't just put workers at risk — it puts senior management in the firing line. Company officers and senior leaders can be held personally liable when safety obligations aren't met. We help ensure your sites are fully compliant with legislative requirements, keeping your systems robust, your people safe, and your leadership protected before an incident occurs, not after.

What Are Construction Safety Audits?
Construction Safety Audits
Our construction safety audits are independent assessments of your safety systems, site conditions, and compliance with legislative and client requirements. We don't just check boxes — our auditors assess risk and identify real hazards, delivering practical recommendations you can implement immediately.
We conduct opening and closing meetings. Audits are conducted using HammerTech software, with reports issued within 72 hours. Corrective actions are managed directly through our Elliott Safety HammerTech system, ensuring close-out is tracked and completed within designated timeframes.

Scope and Limitations
Elliott Safety conducts construction safety audits and site inspections to assess compliance with Victorian OHS Act 2004, OHS Regulations 2017, AS/NZS standards, and client-specific requirements within the agreed audit scope.
Audit Limitations:
- Point-in-time assessment: Audits reflect observations at the time of inspection within the agreed scope. Site conditions and work practices may change after audit completion.
- Sampling-based approach: Audits are sampling-based assessments, not exhaustive reviews of all site activities or documentation.
- Not a guarantee: Audits do not guarantee identification of all hazards or compliance issues.
Your Responsibilities:
- You remain solely responsible for implementing audit recommendations.
- You retain ongoing compliance obligations under Victorian OHS Act 2004 as the PCBU.
- Audit reports are guidance documents supporting your safety management.
Our audits demonstrate your proactive safety management and due diligence—critical evidence if WorkSafe or clients scrutinize your safety performance. But they are tools supporting YOUR safety management, not substitutes for it.
